Facebook Set to Unveil New Developer Features

Apr 21, 2010

The social networking giant Facebook is set to reveal a slew of new developer features tomorrow at its f8 Developer Conference. Much anticipated features include a new Facebook “like” button for websites, real time search, Facebook toolbar and location services.

Facebook is reportedly working with several partners in the social media and brand management space on user analytics. Advertisers who are looking for additional user data from Fan Pages and informal Groups are looking forward to more information about Facebook’s Insights, the site’s current web analytics service.

Another feature that is drawing interest is Facebook’s Payment system, which allows users to buy “virtual” objects. Developers are hoping that Facebook will be revealing more details at the conference, as the virtual sales of objects on Facebook is a $1.6 billion
dollar industry.
