Easel JS JavaScript Framework Simplifies Canvas for Flash Developers

HTML5’s canvas element has gotten a lot of press in the last year, and the folks who created Easel JS hope to simplify its use for Flash Developers. The open source framework is currently in alpha release stages from the developers at gskinner.com.


The current release of Easel JS features a hierarchical display list, core interaction model and helper classes which include:


  • DisplayObject
  • Stage
  • Container
  • Bitmap
  • BitmapSequence
  • Shape

The project is not accepting contributions while in alpha stages, but will migrate to Google Code once it is in beta, and will then be available for contributions. You can see Easel JS in action at the
