Cascading Style Sheets Are For ECommerce Merchants Too

Feb 11, 2011

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) isn’t known for being easy to figure out–even less so than HTML. That said, it provides extraordinary flexibility for design and layout, something that ecommerce merchants should be eager to embrace.

By digging into CSS, even non-developers can change aspects of their website’s design, look and feel, as well as embed photos, add links, make tables and otherwise do what was typically done with HTML alone. Now HTML is typcially used for structure, and CSS is all about layout.

Through the use of CSS, you can:

  • Embed an image
  • Add a border around text
  • Change background color
  • Change the style of a text link
  • Format text
