Americas Largest Automaker Offers Access for Developers to Infotainment

GM’s new software development kit enables developer to create in-vehicle apps as the automotive industry moves closer to leveraging the same app development model that has made smartphones so successful for year. As consumer expectations continue to grow in terms of what connected features and benefits their vehicles will offer GM is getting onboard with this process. Whether it’s a simple service such as mirroring an address book or music playlist or more complex features such as distraction-free access to social media, just like smartphones, the ideas will be limited only by the developer’s imagination, and perhaps their skill level.
