Amazon Web Services Announces AWS CloudFormation

Feb 28, 2011

Amazon is known for many things these days…books, music, videos and web services. Their latest adventure is a new service called AWS CloudFormation. The service is designed to enable developers to create their own templates for provisioning cloud resources.

Amazon states on their CloudFormation page that the service “gives developers and systems administrators an easy way to create a collection of related AWS resources and provision them in an orderly and predictable fashion.”

AWS CloudFormation creates mechanisms which allow the developer to describe the resources that are required, and AWS CloudFormation configures the setup as it is needed.
