WeWork Buys Flatiron School

Co-working company WeWork has announced that it has purchased coding bootcamp Flatiron School. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

It is unclear why WeWork, which primarily provides office space to growing companies, was interested in purchasing Flatiron School, which offers classes in Web development and software development. A blog post from WeWork CEO and founder Adam Neumann said, “Our culture is one in which we are always ready to do more, to learn more, and we are proud to expand our offering with this new platform for learning. In Flatiron, we have found a partner who shares our vision of connecting people — through space, design, technology and community — and understands that those connections are what humanizes the way we work and live.”

The Flatiron School recently reached a settlement with the New York Attorney General regarding claims made on its website.
