MyEclipse Bling IDE Released by Genuitec and Skyway Software

The MyEclipse Bling integrated development environment (IDE) was created by Genuitec and Skyway Software for IBM developers who are hoping to add some Spring to their WebSphere applications. MyEclipse Bling combines the WebSphere functionality of the MyEclipse Blue Edition with Skyway's full-featured bootstrapping and auto-code features.

Spring is a popular Java framework that is being quickly adopted by Java developers, while the MyEclipse Blue IDE is specifically customized for the IBM WebSphere app server. Genuitec looked at the lack of Spring support from IBM Rational for WebSphere-deployed apps, and decided to create a solution that would allow developers to create apps for cloud, mobile and desktop platforms.

The president of Skyway, Sean Walsh, talked about the synergy of the two companies' technologies, stating that "We serve the same software developer market but offer different products that complement each other extremely well."
