Microsoft’s IoT Includes Plans to Put Windows 8.1 Inside Children's Toys and Appliances

One of the hottest buzz words on the technology scene today is what’s known as the internet of things (IoT) to which the premise behind it is that electronic household and workplace appliances, including printers, clocks, cleaning equipment, children's toys, shop tools and other related appliance, will one day all be internet connected, thus opening the door to new e-commerce, advertising, and other business opportunities. And while such opportunities may be far off, all of the top tech companies are increasingly embracing the notion that failing to plan for the IoT era is the same as planning to fail in the IoT era.
