Mad Men Comics Come To Life with CSS3

By using Cascading Style Sheets 3 (CSS3) and images, web developer Anthony Calzadilla has been able to recreate the opening sequence of AMC's Mad Men. With the adoption of CSS3, animations on the web are no longer limited to the use of GIFs.

Calzadilla's Mad Manimation, which can be seen at the Animatible website, works well in all WebKit-based web browsers, which includes the iPhone and iPad. Calzadilla has included a discussion about the methodology behind his creation, and points out that it was created before the release of Animatable.

Animatable is an online Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for creating CSS3 animations, but at this point it is not available to the public.
