Half of Web Designers Surveyed Dismiss Mobile Users

Aug 4, 2011

Results from a recent study of 500 web designers showed that almost half of those polled basically ignore mobile users when creating a new website. The results of the study confirmed that businesses need to make mobile web users part of their plan, before they even consider hiring a designer.

Many web hosting services are now partnering with developers and designers who specialize in mobile development. Web.com launched a mobile design tool for businesses hoping to enter the mobile marketplace in June, and the same month HostPapa partnered with goMobi and offer their own mobile tool for clients.

Although the survey was obviously conducted to call attention to the lack of mobile designers, the rapid growth of mobile smartphone and tablet use globally has been enough to cause small businesses to recognize the importance of mobile website development, and the potential customers they could be missing if they ignore that sector.
