An important milestone for HTML5 has happened this week with the announcement from the Silicon Valley International Game Developers Association that it will be hosting the first-ever HTML5 developer conference.

The platinum sponsor of the event, Sibblingz, is the developer of the Spaceport game engine. The founder of Sibblingz will be the keynote speaker, and will discuss HTML5-based gaming.

Other speakers include JavaScript expert and author Doug Crockford, the creator of JSLInt and JSON developer, Josh Elman, and speakers from the Google Chrome team, Microsoft and other technologists. Morning keynotes will focus on JavaScript, HTML5 applications and HTML5 gaming, while afternoon sessions will feature parallel technical and hands-on tracks about the same topics.
