Apple Shows off HTML 5 Demos for Safari

Even with all the talk about HTML 5 these days, many people are unclear about the features the upcoming spec will provide. Today Apple announced that its new site showcases some of the features of HTML 5, via the Safari web browser.

The demos utilize the latest web standards such as HTML 5, CSS3 and JavaScript. To experience the features of the demo, you will need to be using the Safari web browser. Other browsers, such as Google Chrome, will not work even through it was based on the same browser engine as Safari.

The demos focus on HTML 5's video capabilities, as well as the ability to develop websites that feature rich typography without the use of image files. Another demo focuses on the audio functionality of HTML 5. If you use the Safari browser, the demos are well worth checking out.
