Nashorn, The New JVM JavaScript

The Rhino JavaScript engine is currently the Java implementation of choice for Mozilla’s FireFox and the project team is gearing up to implement a new lightweight and high-performance JavaScript runtime in Java. Including a native JVM, this project proposes to enable Java developers to embed JavaScript in Java applications via JSR-223 as well as develop free standing JavaScript applications using the jrunscript command line tool.
