A comment is a line of text set aside by double slashes (//). That line of text will be left in the script but will not be used as part of the event.

     Multiple lines of text can be commented out using the commands /* at the beginning of the paragraph and the command */ at the end. Everything in between will be commented out.

     Use the comment commands

<!-- and -->

to comment out the text of the Javascript so that browsers that are not JavaScript enabled simply ignore the script without displaying the text. For more, see Primer 8.
