Right above is the script's effect. You get the date. If you got it to work, then you should have encountered two errors. The first should have been a Syntax error claiming "...x" was not defined. The quickest way of fixing the error was to erase the text. I put it in for fun.
     When you ran the script again, you should have gotten another Syntax error claiming that "document.wrte" was not a function. The reason is because "write" is misspelled.
