Twitter Revamps its Developer Program
In the past, Twitter has had a troubled relationship with developers, but it is attempting to change that with a re-boot of its developer program. It has released a public roadmap detailing its plans, as well as unveiling its vision for the Twitter API platform. Among the changes are plans to streamline its APIs, offering just one for all developers no matter what size company they work for. It also released new Account Activity and Search APIs.
Industry watchers say it will be interesting to see how many developers get on board with the new Twitter program, because the social network has a history of changing its plans without regard for how that impacts the mobile and Web developers who rely on its tools and APIs.
