Although progress has been made, the battle rages on for developers who often feel like they are being forced to choose: Flash or HTML5? Recently, a potential solution is being considered that uses both technologies to create a more functional result for all.
Developers are now being told that Flash is not dying, but rather the web is just evolving. Both technologies are still necessary, and by embracing both, we can move foreward with the future of web development. Adobe this week moved in this direction with the announcement about Wallaby, its experimental Flash-to-HTML5 tool.
Now the question is whether the web development industry will accept the truce and embrace both technologies, or if Adobe will get the cold shoulder as more developers walk away from proprietary standards.
