Microsoft Announces Public Release of Internet Explorer 9

Microsoft this week announced the public release of its highly anticipated Internet Explorer web browser. IE9 became officially available as of Monday, March 14th and is available for download from Microsoft’s IE9 page.

New features of IE9 include a more streamlined user interface and design, the ability to “pin” websites to the Windows 7 taskbar, a new download manager that enables users to view, pause and stop a download, as well as enhanced tabs and a new tab page.

Users who haven’t tried out Internet Explorer 9 yet will be pleasantly surprised by how quick the browser is compared to previous versions, and the HTML5 functionality adds new audio and video capabilities, along with support for the canvas element and other HTML5 features.
